Prepreg

High force absorption, low dead weight, little waste: Prepreg is optimally suited for the construction of lightweight, dynamic composite designs – for example orthoses (from flexible to rigid).

Good characteristics

Thanks to the pre-impregnation, the resin and fibre content are optimally matched. The prepreg is thus easy to process and there is no excess resin.

The high-quality epoxy resin matrix ensures a low curing temperature and excellent mechanical properties of the components.

Thanks to the high quality of the fibres, our prepreg can be optimally cut and draped.

The finished components feature tensile strength and are pressure resistant.

Helpful tips

Important for processing: The models must be well dried or insulated and pressure-resistant. Ensure a clean, dust- and grease-free environment.

Remove the prepreg from the refrigerator about an hour before processing: This allows condensation to evaporate (moisture can prevent the curing of prepreg).

Touch and process prepreg only with powder-free nitrile gloves (item no. 12P23). The optimal room temperature for processing because of stickiness (tack) is 20 °C.

How to cure properly:

  • Foam model: up to 6 hours at 80 °C (pressure-resistant and temperature-resistant model, PP placeholder recommended)
  • Plaster model: up to 8 hours at 80 °C (dry or insulated model)
  • Fast curing process: for 3 hours at 100 °C (model must be 100% dry!)
